14th Karlsruhe Museum Night :: KAMUNA 2012 ::
This year, the ZKM | Media Museum is focusing entirely on sound whereas at the ZKM | Museum of Contemporary Art you will encounter performativity and video art as a theme. The ZKM forecourt is transformed into an Openair Soundpark with metallophone and gigantic orchestra. On the occasion of the KAMUNA, special guided tours, workshops as well as the legendary Museum Rally for children are to be held which together convey a unique impression of the exhibition. ⁄⁄ more

Ryoji Ikeda :: superposition ::
The Japanese sound art and video artist Ryoji Ikeda presents his newest project as a preview of his world première at the Centre Pompidou - Festival dʼAutomne à Paris (November 14th/15th, 2012): In "superposition" (2012) he looks into our understanding of nature on an atomic scale, based on and inspired by his findings in the field of quantum maths and mechanics. Ikeda makes the most of this particular characteristic to create a striking performance piece where sound, visuals, physics, mathematical concepts, human behavior and randomness are combined and rearranged. ⁄⁄ more

FINAL CUT − the name is BURROUGHS ::
The Finissage "FINAL CUT − the name is BURROUGHS" concludes the exhibition "the name is BURROUGHS − Expanded Media" with a 3 day program including film screening, book presentation, trash reading and discussion. Reknown guests such as Ian MacFadyen, John Giorno will present selected aspects of William S. Burroughs' activities and phases of life, as well as his continued influence.

New :: Sensor. Time for Young Approaches :: 05_Stefano Cagol & Leonida De Filippi ::
The fifth part of the exhibition series "Sensor. Time for Young Approaches" presents works by Italian artists Stefano Cagol and Leonida De Filippi from the VAF Foundation Collection.
The point of departure for Leonida De Filippi’s paintings is international socio-political events such as the War in Afghanistan or the Iraq War.
The video installation "Vampa" by Stefano Cagol pursues the ambiguity of signs by manipulating the image of the American flag. ⁄⁄ more
