Dieter Meier, Zurich concept artist and self-made man, is first and foremost a musician and pioneer of “YELLO”, but also known as an organic farmer, poker-player and golfer. Together with Boris Blank, he made “YELLO” into one of the most important bands of the newly emerging electro-pop during the 1980s and, with the sale of over 12 million CDs, into one of the most internationally successful and well-known Swiss lineups ever. With his most recent project “Out of Chaos”, Dieter Meier now adds a further chapter to his career as musician. He will be accompanied by his five-man band, to which Tobias Preisig, Nicolas Rüttimann and Ephrem Lüchinger belong – a constellation of young Swiss musicians who have already shown their colors at several events in both European festivals such as Montreux, as well as by other renowned musicians such as George Grunz or Erik Truffaz. Thomas Wydler, the band’s drummer “Nick Cave and The Bad Seeds”, is also part of the lineup.
To the first appearances of “Out of Chaos” belong a sold-out concert at Mousonturm in Frankfurt, the jazz festival in St. Moritz, a sold out concert in Zurich as well as the first studio recordings in the Berlin Traumtonstudio. The release of the first CD is scheduled for fall, 2012. One may experience the result of this session on the Homepage of Tränenpalast.
With “Out of Chaos”, Dieter Meier presents new songs for the first time in Karlsruhe and exclusively at the ZKM | Karlsruhe.
