Boros Collection

Christian Boros concentrates on collecting art by his generation. His collection contains important examples of contemporary art movements in Germany and England from the 1990s through to the present. Lifestyle, pop generation, and artistic crossover are the keywords of this period.

Important exponents of directions in painting since the 1990s, such as Franz Ackermann, Michel Majerus, and Elizabeth Peyton, are represented in the collection with large groups of works, as well as the younger generations of artists, for example, Wilhelm Sasnal and Sergej Jensen. There are also important works by Olafur Eliasson, who focuses on the analysis and reconstruction of natural phenomena in the context of art. A large number of photographs by Wolfgang Tillmans, created over a period spanning more than thirteen years, provide a representative overview of the artistís work. Crossover works of art and design by Tobias Rehberger, Daniel Pflumm, and Stefan Kern occupy a large place in the collection, and British artists such as Tracey Emin, Damien Hirst, Sarah Lucas, Martin Boyce, Jim Lambie, and Paul Morrison are also represented in the collection with many works. Since 2008, works from the Sammlung Boros can be viewed in the Boros Bunker in Berlin.
