For many years, the ZKM has worked in various collaborative projects with the Hochschule für Musik Karlsruhe. Wolfgang Rihm, one of today’s leading composers, teaches there: new works from his composition class will be presented on 16 January. Many promising composers have emerged from this class, such as, Jürg Widmann, Mark Andre, and Rebecca Saunders.

On 18 January, the ComputerStudio der Hochschule für Musik Karlsruhe will guest at ZKM and demonstrate its aesthetic and technical state-of-the-art with new works. The ComputerStudio’s laptop orchestra will present their compositions and will also improvise, live.
