Scenic Premiere

Composer Wolfgang Rihm of Karlsruhe is among the most significant artists in the international music landscape and has kept close ties with the ZKM since the very start. The work presents his only composition to date that has been composed exclusively for electronic sounds. This project marks the first cooperation of the ZKM | Karlsruhe, the Badisches Staatstheater Karlsruhe, and the Hochschule für Musik Karlsruhe. It was possible to obtain top-class artists for this. The Stuttgart artist rosalie designed a spectacular light installation, creating visual framework, which harmonizes superbly with the choreography by Terence Kohler, winner of the dance prize “Zukunft 2007” for choreography. The dancers are members of the ballet of the Badisches Staatstheater Karlsruhe—Director Prof. Birgit Keil. The Ensemble für Neue Musik of the Hochschule für Musik Karlsruhe guarantees a musical interpretation of the highest standard.

This production will premiere in conjunction with the anniversary “10 Years of ZKM in Hallenbau A” on Thursday 18 October 2007 at 9 p.m. in the ZKM_Foyer.
