Thermocline of Art - New Asian Waves :: The exhibition presents the first comprehensive view of contemporary Asian art production, with more than 100 artists from ca. twenty Asian countries - from Japan to Korea to China, from Southeast Asia to central Asia. Mensch-[in der]-Maschine :: Taking the chess automaton, an amazing work with great significance in technical history as well as an incubator of utopian ideas, the joint exhibition expands the image of Kempelen, the scientist, engineer, artist, actor, state official, and private person, by exploring the mechanical inventions of his epoch. zwischen zwei toden / between two deaths :: From May 12 to August 19, 2007 ZKM | Karlsruhe will present an exhitibion curated by Ellen Blumenstein and Felix Ensslin. It will show a critical artistic reflection on the political, social, and cultural trend toward melancholic retrospection. The Algorithmic Revoluion and World of Games: reloaded :: Over the past 50 years, algorithmic decision-making processes have come very much to the fore as a result of the universal use of computers in all fields of cultural literacy - from architecture to music, from literature to the fine arts, and from transport to management.
