For KAMUNA 2007, ZKM | Karlsruhe will show five unusual and exciting exhibition
projects that highlight the diversity of the institution’s artistic,
technological, and historical range in various ways. zwischen
zwei toden/between two deaths on the ground floor of the ZKM | Media Museum shows the trend towards
melancholic retrospection. Also on display in the same exhibition area, Wolfgang
von Kempelen. Mensch–[in der]–Maschine is dedicated to
Wolfgang von Kempelen’s wonderworks from technology’s history.
In the two top stories of ZKM | Media Museum, the algorithmic museums open
up eventful insight into the development of interactive art. For KAMUNA, the
ZKM | Karlsruhe will also present FLICK_KA, a portal, that challenges all visitors
to transfer a picture into the Internet and to enter the museum with their
own artwork.
Fitting for the exhibition Thermocline of
Art. New Asian Waves, the ZKM offers
its KAMUNA visitors, along with performances by the Bollywood dance
group "Nilayfer" at the ZKM_Media Theater, an Indian festival of
the senses with Ayurveda massage, saris to try on, and much more.
Specials until midnight
For all ZKM exhibitions, ZKM | Museum Communications offers guided tours and
the meanwhile famous ZKM museum rallye.
The motto of this year’s KAMUNA, "Da klingt die Nacht/Here the
night rings out" can be heard at the ZKM | Institute for Music and Acoustics:
"Music for constellations" 6 pm–midnight, ZKM_Cube
David Psenicka: "Epigenesis" 6 pm–midnight, ZKM_Small Studio
in the ZKM_Cube
