The Karlsruhe Conservatory of Music: Guest performance at the ZKM :: The ZKM has long worked in the most diverse co-operative projects with the Karlsruhe Conservatory of Music. This year's co-operation will be inaugurated by a jointly organized concert, where the composer Márton Illés will present an evening of music. »Nuove Scene Polidimensionali« is a thoroughly dramaturgically shaped concert in which the individual works become parts of a multi-dimensional scene. Illés was already the recipient of the Composition Prize of the Hungarian National Television at the age of 16. In the meantime his works have become regular features at well-known festivals ⁄⁄ more

Michael Kunze. Les Messieurs d'Avignon :: Michael Kunze's Les Messieurs d'Avignon are well-known great minds from the areas of art and philosophy at the end of 19th to the end of the 20th centuries. They are the »bad boys of modernity«, whom Kunze presents in over 60 pictures - from Friedrich Nietzsche to Michel Houellebecq. Common to them all is that they stand, each in his different way, strikingly aloof: although they cannot be imagined outside their time and place, they dodge or undermine the accepted idea of a strictly operating model of progress. This contradiction is the common theme of the presented collection - The exhibition runs until March 18th, 2007 ⁄⁄ more

art_clips.ch.at.de :: art_clips are the subject-centered answer of art to the end of industrially produced music videos for television. Following the DVD production and preview events in Innsbruck and Berlin, the ZKM now presents the first comprehensive compilation of this new art form. Presented will be 90 art_clips from Switzerland, Austria and Germany produced between 2000 and today - The exhibition runs until March 25th, 2007 ⁄⁄ more

MindFrames. Media Study at Buffalo 1973-1990 :: In the 1970s and 1980s, the Department of Media Study at the State University of New York at Buffalo became one of the places of teaching and mediating, in the area of Media Art, developing into what was perhaps to the most influential school for media in the twentieth century. Teaching there under the leadership of the founder Gerald O'Grady were the (meanwhile canonized) structuralist, avant-garde filmmakers Hollis Frampton, Tony Conrad, and Paul Sharits, documentary filmmaker James Blue, video artists Steina and Woody Vasulka, and Peter Weibel. The exhibition will offer the first comprehensive insight into this groundbreaking art of the 1970s and 1980s, which was so decisive for Media Art's further development and whose style remains influential today - The exhibition runs until March 25th, 2007 ⁄⁄ www.zkm.de/mindframes_e/

Lisa Schmitz. InVerse Library :: Over the past several years, Lisa Schmitz has developed a unique method for photographing libraries. She turns all of the books around so that only the white paper is visible rather than the book spine. She covers all of the printed papers with blank paper. She erases, as it were, the writing, the essence of the books, and thereby negates the archive, the entity of the library - The exhibition runs until February 4th, 2007 ⁄⁄ more
FASTER! BIGGER! BETTER! light. Signet works of the collections :: Sylvie Fleury's neon writing supplies the title for the presentation of our museum's new collections. Signet works of our present and recently acquired private collections will be displayed on all three levels of the atriums 1 and 2 - The exhibition runs until May 01, 2007 ⁄⁄ more
The Museum of Time Based Art :: The ZKM now open itself completely to the art of time and, furthermore, present the works of film and music in the permanent collection - The exhibition runs until April 2007 ⁄⁄ more
The Algorithmic Revoluion and World of Games: reloaded :: Over the past 50 years, algorithmic decision-making processes have come very much to the fore as a result of the universal use of computers in all fields of cultural literacy - from architecture to music, from literature to the fine arts, and from transport to management. The exhibition draws on the ZKM_Collection and selected loans in presenting an historical outline of this radical change in the fine arts, music, design, and architecture - The exhibition runs until April 2007 ⁄⁄ more
