Symposium: Information technology revolution, between everyday and future :: The symposium, a cooperation between ZKM and the Faculty of Informatics at the University of Karlsruhe, takes place from 16 to 17 November 2006 at ZKM and at the University of Karlsruhe. It will look at past and future developments in the area of information technology. The first day will concentrate on the topic of the history of information technology. Silent Film Festival: From Caligari to Metropolis :: The Karlsruhe Silent Film Festival is now taking place for the fifth time. In the context of this year’s festival, the student cultural center will present two films »Das Wachsfigurenkabinett« and »Bergkatze« along with the two main films »Metropolis« and »Das Cabinet des Dr. Caligari«. Live music will accompany all of the films. The ensemble »Sorpresa« led by Felix Treiber, former member of the Badische Staatskapelle, will play an arrangement of original chamber music by Gottfried Huppertz ⁄⁄ more

Silent Music. George Brecht 80. Radio plays :: In the time from 1983 to 1995, George Brecht realized three radio plays for West German Radio's studio of acoustic art. These pieces will be presented non-stop performance in a specially designed listening booth.
