÷ Making Things Public. Atmospheres of Democracy :: Building on the much acclaimed exhibition »Iconoclash« by the same curators [ZKM 2002], the exhibition aspires to nothing less than to renew what constitutes an art show as well as ways of thinking about politics and methods of establishing new forms of collaboration between artists and academics [through 08/07/2005, ZKM_Museum for Contemporary Art].
÷ EXIT_Stepping Out of The Picture :: EXIT_Stepping Out of The Picture marks the reintegration of the Museum for Contemporary Art into the ZKM. The collection's first thematic exhibition shows works from the Boros, FER, Froehlich, Grässlin, Weishaupt and ZKM collections. It focuses on a complex and fascinating aspect of Western art in the second half of the 20th century: the farewell to the picture [through 08/14/2005 | ZKM_Museum for Contemporary Art].
÷ Jochen Gerz: Anthology of Art :: The Anthology of Art began as a work in progress in September 2001. The contributions by artists and theorists from 37 countries and six continents challenge one to rethink aesthetic practice and theory in a global society [through 07/08/2005 | Atria 1-10].
÷ Masterpieces of Media Art from the ZKM_Collection :: The exhibition Masterpieces of Media Art presents a panorama of media art from its early days in the 1950s up to current net art, which no other museum in the world has to offer [through the end of 2005 | Ground floor of atria 8+9].
÷ The Algorithmic Revoluion and World of Games: reloaded :: Over the past 50 years, algorithmic decision-making processes have come very much to the fore as a result of the universal use of computers in all fields of cultural literacy - from architecture to music, from literature to the fine arts, and from transport to management. The exhibition draws on the ZKM_Collection and selected loans in presenting an historical outline of this radical change in the fine arts, music, design, and architecture [through the end of 2005 | First and second floor of atria 8+9].
÷ video/text :: The exhibition video/text focuses on works that attribute meaning to writing, text, and characters - in addition to image - and visualize this in a variety of ways [through 05/29/2005 | ZKM_Media Lounge]
