Woven presents uses a sewing machine as an interface to the internet. Via the search term war current war reports from news agencies are filtered out of the internet and embroidered on a black strip of cloth by a computer-controlled sewing machine. The strip with linear rows of reports flows along a column during sewing and ends in a 'mountain of text' on the floor next to the machine. A confrontation of mechanical and digital production is staged in this work, the mechanisms seem to be twisted: the war reports are no longer defined by the author but rather via the search engine on the web.
